Men's Health Month 2022

Anchored by a congressional health education program, Men's Health Month aims to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. For Summit Medical Group, Men's Health Month gives us an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular check-ups, preventative screenings, medical advice, and early treatment for disease and injury.

Alarming statistics show that men's health is at great risk:

  • On average, men live about five years less than their female counterparts.
  • Men have a higher death rate for most of the leading causes of death, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and suicide.
  • One out of every two men (50%) will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime.
  • Men make half as many preventative visits to their doctor as women.

The lives of hundreds of thousands of men will continue to be threatened unless immediate action is taken to combat this growing crisis. Do you want to see these statistics change? Schedule a checkup with your doctor today. If you don't have a primary care provider, visit www.SummitMedical.com to find one near you.

Do it for yourself and for those who count on you.
